THE RESTLESS SPIRIT is a sermon illustrating in easy to understand language that God is interested in and guides each of us. If we’ll let Him. The authors point out that we humans mean to do right, but we have a restless spirit that doesn’t always cooperate even when we sincerely desire to follow the way of the cross.
Covering a broad slice of humanity from crime and punishment, husbands and wives, teachers and community, the familiar struggle between good and evil is deicted in a fresh way using the concerns of ordinary people. The reader learns how even the smallest good act may cange another’s life in a positive manner without our knowledge.
An important point made by Alison and co-author Brian Pickrell in this Christian novel based on real events is the way people interpret doing the “right thing”. We learn that although we may differ on how to minister to others, “your” way and “my” way can both be pleasing to God. Knowing this encourages the timid reader to go forth and do likewise.
You will remember the characters long after you put the book down. You’ll wonder how each life that was touched has been changed, but you won’t learn that. You will learn that in the end, when this life on earch is finished, God has been in charge all along and that you, the good and faithful servant, have been loved and will be rewarded.
