After a lifetime of taking care of others, including one ex-husband, one son, and thirty years of teaching emotionally challenged students in an urban school district, D.J.S. Harrington is now free to devote herself to her first love, writing. She has scribbled stories and poems since she was capable of picking up a crayon. The turning point was the early passing of her beloved sister. Soon after, a character invaded DJS’s life and refused to leave until she appeared in print. Two novels for junior high/high school students were the result. Poetry seems to come naturally and she loves to surprise people with different styles. Currently, she divides her time by guest teaching, improving her writing skills and, oh yes, taking care of her C.I. cat.
