I grew up in a small mountain town in North Carolina. I now live in High Point, NC, so I didn’t end up too far from home. I graduated from High School in 1965. I have completed two years of college.
Neither of my parents were college graduates but we always had books and music in our home. My Dad loved swing music, and it became one of my favorites along with rock and roll. I learned to love classical music in ballet class.
My mother was a Dance Instructor and I went to work part time at a studio while going to college. I ended up opening my own studio and didn’t stop teaching dance until I sold my last studio in 2007.
During all those years, I always loved to read, and I wrote some poetry and impressions of people and events. I started writing seriously after I retired and am still at it. Although I loved my profession and all the years spent working at it, beginning to write made me feel that I was adding a long missing piece to the puzzle that is me.
I have been married for thirty-one years to the best person I know. I have a stepson, a great daughter-in-law and two amazing grandchildren. I also have three cats who do their best to keep me humble.
